The best way to deal with the heat of summer and still dress to impress is with a great sundress. The functional and fashionable staple to every summer wardrobe has been seen all over the red carpet this summer as well. Celebrities have been facing the fact that even though it’s hot out there and they need to look right.

Oscar Award-Winner Holly Hunter looked fabulous in a pink floral frock with a magenta belt at the Saving Grace premier. Eva Mendez also flashed some pink recently in a Dior dress with an orange bodice. Red has also been a popular summer dress color with Anne Hathaway and Sienna Miller both wearing fetching dresses in the primary color.

Printed dresses have also been seen on a lot of celebrities this summer. Hayden Panettiere was seen recently in a full-length printed gown. Jennifer Hudson also looked ravishing in a full-length giraffe-printed dress. Celebrities such Mary-Kate Olsen, Nicole Richie, Uma Thurman, Kate Hudson, and Kate Bosworth have all been channeling their inner Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves with bohemian printed dresses that bring them back to the ‘70s.

Another big trend in the hopes of keeping cool and looking fashionable is full-length white dresses that have been seen on many celebrities such as Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, and Lauren Conrad. White sundresses have also been seen on stars in other styles, such as Kate Hudson, who was recently wearing a white watercolor Stella McCartney.

Finally, the hottest trend from last summer, metallics, are still alive and kicking. A lot of celebrities this summer including Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively, have been feeling the need to shine with the sun’s reflection.

Sundresses are a great way to look glam without compromising comfort in the scorcher days of the summer. Celebrities are using this to their advantage wearing very fashion-forward looks of an old stand-by at various parties and red carpet events.

Everyone wears pants. This is a commonly known fact. In the Summer of 2008, celebrities have been mixing it up, wearing some interesting, stylish pieces on their lower-halves.

One big trend this particular summer has been color. And lots of it. Red and yellow denim have been seen all over this summer being worn by Victoria Beckham, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Fergie and The Hills stars Heidi, Lauren, and Audrina have made a splash wearing the brightly colored denim.

Shorts have always been a summer staple, mainly for the functionality. Celebrities such as Nicky Hilton have been wearing all sorts to show of their tremendous stems. Some styles that have been seen are dressy shorts, which have been worn by Hillary Duff this summer, and black suit-style, worn by Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, and Rihanna, being paired with a sleek blazer.

Denim shots have also been all the rage. Heidi Klum has been seen wearing a pair that has interesting pocket details. Cutoffs are also popular this summer with stars such as Blake Lively and Mary-Kate Olsen wearing the shabby-chic summer favorite.

Skinny jeans have been a major trend for the past couple of seasons with celebrities. This summer is no different, regardless of how hot it is. Ashley Tisdale, Nicole Richie, and Katie Holmes have all been out in a pair recently. This trend is often seen matched with a flirty summer blouse.

The most extreme below-the-waist statement being made this summer is shinny black leggings. Rihanna has been seen wearing these quite often, in all black ensembles that are edgy and played up with texture, layers, and accessories. Mary-Kate Olsen has also been seen in this look. If you want to get your own pair, similar styles are available at American Apparel.

Although there have been changes in the lineup this summer as far as pants, some tried and true items stay the same. In summer no one, not even celebrities, can do wrong in a pair of shorts and bright colors.

To add that extra panache to the new Warren Tricomi Salon at the Plaza Hotel and Residences, Edward Tricomi and Joel Warren, the handsomely chic owners with style harkening back to the rat pack and Sinatra, wooed evening wear designer Anne Bowen into creating something luscious and stylish, yet functional and durable all in one. Anne Bowen, inspired by the history of the Plaza, Brigitte Bardot and Belle de Jour film star Catherine Denueve, has created the ultimate evening coat in a robe with her vision for their ever so gorgeous clientele to slip on once they arrive in their new digs on the second floor of the Plaza. In silky, cream charmeuse lined in Turks and Caicos blue, iridescent organza, the shimmering, swing silhouette robes with open neck line, large pearlized button makes one confused, you aren’t sure whether you should wear them out or if the party is already started at the Warren Tricomi Salon.

Renown for their hair styles on the catwalks of fashion week, Edward and Joel have been the creative team for the hair at the Anne Bowen runway shows and sometimes working their magic all together for celebrities walking the red carpet for over 7 years. Tara Reid even said to Bowen once, “they really do amazing blondes.” Anne Bowen having graced the red carpet herself at the Goldenglobes, Oscars and Cannes film festivals for E! Entertainment television giving her fashion commentary, tips and taste critique as well as having dressed celebrities such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Beyonce, Debra Messing, Kim Cattrall and Jessica Alba in addition to having sold to the top retailers in the world is busy launching her Bespoke by Bowen for Men suitings, shirts and accessories with a celebrity clientele out of the gate.

Bowen having been keeping a low profile recently has found creativity in additional new areas. Bowen is looking forward to her luxury property, international interior design projects as well and is truly a fan of the talented duo and what they have done to create a modern elegance in the new salon. Architect Dominic Kozerski creates sleek and textured elements, which exude sophistication. Michael Borrico, president of Certified of NY is calling the salon a gem in their portfolio.

“It is a joy to work with real men who know how to make your vision and fantasy a reality and do it everyday for women. See you at the Plaza, bring on the martini’s, shaken definitely not stirred.” says Bowen.
